Effective January 1, 2008, Arizona law requires that employers use the E-Verify (Formerly known as the Basic Pilot) program, which is an online database administered by the Department of Homeland Security in conjunction with the Social Security Administration which allows an employer or the E-Verify Employer Agent to verify that new workers are legally eligible to work in the United States.
